We started the day off enjoying our view from our room. Turtle Bay was a great experience to have been able to do. After getting ready, we walked around the resort in the morning and stopped to watch the surfers for bit. They were very good and fun to watch!

After checking out we went for a walk down a trail by the resort that led to a World War II bunker. It was quite the walk but fun to be able to see all of the landscape and enjoy the view of the ocean. At one point of the walk, it seemed like we were walking through a jungle because of all of the exotic trees and shrubbery. It was pretty neat!

The bunker was neat to see. It had a great view of the ocean. Mark and I wondered what the soldiers did while they were on duty back in the day. I think it would have gotten quite boring just sitting in the little bunker all day. It was a cool to see a bit of history.

After seeing the bunker, we walked down to an isolated beach. The water was a bit murky for me to swim in so we just enjoyed talking to each other and resting up so we could start our walk back to the car.
We headed to the North Shore to grab some lunch and meet up with Amanda. We decided to try a shrimp shack because we heard they were very good. I guess we picked the wrong shack because it wasn't at all good. We tried some garlic shrimp which did not settle very well with us. The after taste was the worst! I guess if we would have driven down the road a bit more we would have found a shack that was good. Oh well, at least we tried it.
After lunch, Amanda took us to an ancient Hawaiian Ruin Temple site near Waimea Bay. Before we entered the gounds, Amanda sang a chant to ask for permission to enter. It was a beautiful song. It was fun to have Amanda as a guide because it allowed us to have a better perspective of Hawaii. We walked around the grounds and stopped to enjoy the incredible view of the ocean from the mountain top. It was neat to see the ancient temple and learn more about the history of Hawaii.
After seeing the temple site, Amanda took us to see a waterfall. By the time we got there the park was getting ready to close so we weren't able to see the waterfall but got so see some giant trees and leaves!
It was getting close to sundown so we stopped at Waimea Bay to play in the ocean and watch the sun set. There was some huge waves coming in and Mark went out and played in them. He had a lot of fun riding the waves. It was amazing to see the power of the ocean.
There was no better way to end the day than to watch a beautiful Hawaiian sunset over the ocean! It was spectacular!
