Yesterday Vanessa had her heart appointment down at Primary Children's Medical Center. A few months ago, her doctor found that she had developed an irregular heartbeat rhythm. He had her get an EKG (electric monitor of her heart) and she had to wear a Holter Monitor for 24 hours. Both confirmed that she in deed had an irregular beat. So we were sent to Primary's for more testing.
The doctor there sat down with us and said that she wanted to give Vanessa another EKG and an Echo (ultrasound). Well, we couldn't do the Echo because Vanessa had eaten food. I guess they would have needed to put Vanessa to sleep to do it.
Vanessa did not like to be touched by the doctors and nurses. She got really nervous and scared when the doctor tried to listen to her heart with a stepascope. She also did not like when they put on all of the wires on her chest. We felt so bad for her. I know it was scary for her and I couldn't do anything to help her much. I just had to hold down her arms and hands so she wouldn't take them off.
After the test, the doctor gave us excellent news. She said that Vanessa still has an irregular rhythm but it is nothing to be concerned about. It looks like she will most likely outgrow it. We will have to take her back in a year for another check up to see if it has went away. But as for now we were told to not worry about it.
After the test, we took Vanessa to get an ice cream cone. She specifically asked for a "Strawberry Ice Cream Cone." That cheered her up instantly.
We feel very blessed to have such a great outcome from the test. We know that Heavenly Father is watching over our little girl and blessing her with health and strength so she might be able to overcome this. We know that He loves us so much! We have definitely have felt His love and comfort as we faced this trial.
We are also so thankful for all of our family and friends who fasted and prayed in Vanessa's behalf. We know that all of those prayers were heard and in return blessed Vanessa. We truly felt your love and support and are so grateful to have such amazing family members and friends! THANK YOU!
